As we prepare for the start of the Fall 2026 semester, we want to share important information about classroom access, security, and technology to ensure your classes run smoothly.
Check Your Schedule
Please review your official course schedule in ESTHER. Checking your schedule will ensure you have your most up-to-date room assignment before heading to your first class.
There are three locations where you may view the section information for your classes:
- Course Roster in ESTHER: This will contain the section meeting date/time and location. This is the most efficient way to find your section meeting date/time and location.
- Banner Course Search: This will contain the section meeting date/time and location.
- Course Schedule: This will contain the section meeting date/time only; it does not include the meeting location.
Classroom Access & Security
We have been coordinating with both Facilities and RUPD to ensure that all scheduled classrooms are unlocked and accessible for your assigned class times, including evening and weekend sessions.
- If you arrive at your assigned room and find the door locked, with no other entrance unlocked, please contact the Facilities Service Center at 713-348-2485 for immediate assistance.
- To help avoid any delays—especially during the first week of the semester—we strongly recommend arriving at least 15–20 minutes prior to your scheduled class time.
Food and Drink Policy
As a reminder, food and beverages are not permitted in the classrooms. We appreciate your assistance in enforcing this policy with your students to help us keep our learning spaces clean and well-maintained for everyone.
Classroom Technology
If you experience any issues with the classroom projector, audio, or computer station, please contact the TS&S Help Desk at 713-348-4357 or helpdesk@rice.edu.
If you have any questions, need further assistance, or encounter any other issues with your assigned room, you may respond directly to this email, and it will be directed to the appropriate OTR staff member.
