The course schedule for Summer Sessions 2025 has been posted to https://courses.rice.edu/. As a reminder, the deadline for final submission of any Summer Sessions 2025 courses is Friday, February 14, 2025.
Easily Viewable Registration Counts / Data
We have made a report available to help you easily view your courses and identify which ones are at risk of cancellation. (All courses right now will show at risk of cancellation because today is the first day of registration. OTR won’t be analyzing cancellation until May 2025.) The report is available at here. You will need to be on the Rice Owls network or on VPN to access. Should you find that you cannot access the report and believe you should have access, please let Jean Tarrats know.
Visiting High School Student Eligible Courses
We’ve noticed fewer than normal courses marked as eligible for Visiting High School Students. If you intend to allow Visiting High School Students to take one of your courses, you must identify that as such in CLSS.
Open (or create) a section that you would like to allow Visiting High School Students to be able to take
- Click the pencil icon next to Section Attributes
- Click the green plus symbol
- Using the dropdown, select “High School VS Eligible”
- Click “Accept”
- Place any pre-requisites a high school student may need to successfully complete the course in the Comments section
- Submit the section through workflow as you normally would
- The course will be routed through all necessary workflow approvals
IMPORTANT: Once a course is approved to be eligible for Visiting High School Students, it cannot be removed from the approval list.
