RE: Unique Registration Option (Fall 2025): the Drop-Back Provision
As noted in the Fall 2025 Academic Calendar, we are in semester "Week 3", and in the first week after the "Add" deadline. We want to highlight an unusual, long-standing arrangement commonly referred to as the Drop-Back Provision.
- This provision is referenced in the General Announcements, under Registration, and specifically under Drop/Add.
- Detailed information on this, including the list of courses, may be found on the Office of the Registrar website, on the Drop-Back Provision page.
Only those MATH, CHEM, and PHYS courses documented there are eligible for this provision. It is meant to be instructor-initiated (both instructors must approve by signing the paper Special Registration Form) and this "drop-back" should be done as early as possible, and absolutely no later than the published Week 7 Drop deadline (Friday, October 10th).
